HISTORY
The Genealogical Society of Isabella County (GSIC) was organized in 1995 to bring together individuals with similar interests in family history research.  By 1998 the Society had grown enough to allow a more formal organization and the official undertaking of preservation projects.

OBJECTIVES
To preserve and make available for genealogical research the records of our members.
To encourage and assist the study of family.
To promote the exchange of knowledge.
To encourage the deposit of genealogical records.
 ​

MEMBERSHIP
Any person who is interested in genealogy, family history and preservation, whether amateur or professional, may become a member of the society.  You do not need to have ancestors that resided in Isabella County.
 
Membership dues are renewed each January.  
Annual dues are:
Single person $10.00
Family $12.00
Lifetime $100.00

REGULAR MEETINGS
Business meetings with a guest speaker are held March through December on the second Thursday of each month at the Commission on Aging Building at 2200 S. Lincoln Road, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.  Meeting time is 7:00 p.m.  Visitors are always welcome. 

We also have a “brown bag” lunch gathering at the Veteran’s Memorial Library Annex, 301 S University Street, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.  We meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 11:30 a.m.  We discuss our successes and brick walls.  Visitors are always welcome to join us for lunch…we can get them started or because we are at the library we can take them to the computers or microfilm reader if needed.
